A 49-year-old man on parole is back in custody following a significant enforcement operation in Visalia, where police uncovered drugs and firearms at his residence. Michael Johnsen was arrested after law enforcement officials from the Tulare Area Gun Violence Enforcement Team, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, and local police conducted a search at his home, uncovering methamphetamine and a privately manufactured “ghost” AR-15 rifle, along with a 9mm pistol and approximately 300 rounds of ammunition.
Johnsen now faces multiple charges, including possession of an assault weapon and possession of methamphetamine. Authorities are urging residents to report any information related to illegal firearms or drugs, emphasizing community involvement in enhancing public safety. The incident raises broader concerns about the interaction between parole policies and gun violence in the area.
