A 34-year-old man from Reading, Pennsylvania, Mikal Portalatin, pleads guilty to multiple armed robberies, including incidents at gas stations and a credit union. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, these robberies occurred between July and November of 2022, with Portalatin using a firearm during these violent crimes.
The court proceedings revealed that in one incident, he fired his weapon at an employee who attempted to stop him during a robbery at a Citgo gas station. With the sentencing scheduled for October 30, Portalatin faces a maximum sentence of life in prison, underscoring the severe repercussions of his actions.
