Peoria Man Indicted for Armed Subway Robbery

A grand jury has indicted Mohammed Saeed, a 28-year-old man from Peoria, on charges of armed robbery after he allegedly held up a Subway restaurant with a butcher knife. Despite the threatening approach, court documents indicate that the only item he obtained during the incident on January 28 was a single sandwich.

The charges brought against Saeed classify the act as a Class X felony, which carries a mandatory prison sentence ranging from six to 30 years if convicted. Following the indictment, the local judge has ordered Saeed to remain in custody until his arraignment scheduled for March 6, illustrating the seriousness of the accusations against him.
