A Philadelphia man is sentenced to up to 30 years in state prison for a major gun trafficking operation that involved the illegal sale of 29 handguns. Anthony Jackson, 28, pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including providing false information on firearm purchase forms, and sold these firearms primarily to individuals who were ineligible to own them. This extensive operation was linked to firearms recovered from various crime scenes across Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Investigators uncovered that Jackson had bought the guns from several local shops, including The Bunker Gun Shop and Delia’s Gun Shop, and then resold them at a significant markup. Five of the firearms he purchased were later found at crime scenes, with one gun discovered in the possession of a convicted felon just days after being sold. The investigation involved collaboration between local and federal law enforcement agencies, highlighting a serious issue of gun trafficking in the region.
