Recent studies reveal a troubling rise in gun fatalities among children and teens in states that have relaxed gun laws, with Pennsylvania and Delaware being among the most permissive. Javier Alverado from Intercultural Family Services notes the need for coordinated efforts, stating, “We are looking for recommendations to continue to reduce the gun violence in the city,” highlighting the urgency of addressing this public health crisis as guns now surpass car accidents as the leading cause of death for children, according to the CDC.
