The Metropolitan Police Department is actively seeking information on 18-year-old Naqwan Antonio Lucas, who is wanted for the premeditated murder of a Capitol Hill intern, Eric Tarpinian-Jachym. Officials have offered a reward of $50,000 for information leading to his arrest, following the fatal shooting that occurred just one mile from the White House on June 30. Two other suspects, both age 17, have already been arrested and charged in connection with the crime.
Tarpinian-Jachym was a 21-year-old intern for Rep. Ron Estes and was honored with a moment of silence by the House after his tragic death. The case has reignited discussions around safety in the district, as it highlights rising criminal activity in Washington, D.C. Authorities urge anyone with information about Lucas’s whereabouts to contact them immediately and refrain from taking action themselves.
