Champaign County Crime Stoppers is appealing to the public for assistance in identifying two suspects involved in an armed robbery at a Circle K convenience store. The incident occurred on January 4 at approximately 10:36 a.m. when two men entered the store at 1511 North Prospect Avenue, with one displaying a firearm and demanding merchandise from an employee.
Both suspects were captured on surveillance video and are described as Black males in their mid-teens to early 20s. The robbery attempt was thwarted when the suspects were denied the merchandise, prompting them to flee the scene. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously, noting that tips leading to arrests could yield cash rewards of up to $2,500 for firearm-related felonies.
