Police Seek Public Assistance in Thompson Bank Robbery

Connecticut State Police are actively seeking the public’s help to identify a suspect involved in an armed robbery at the Hometown Bank on Riverside Drive in Thompson. The incident occurred Thursday afternoon when a man brandished a black handgun and demanded cash, fleeing the scene with over $3,250 before possibly escaping in a small black SUV with Massachusetts plates.

Authorities describe the suspect as a man in his 30s, approximately 5-foot-10 with an average build and brown eyes, last seen wearing a black face covering and a distinctive black Columbia zip-up sweatshirt with a lime green zipper. The Eastern District Major Crimes Squad is investigating the attack, and police urge anyone with information to contact Detective Timothy Benjamin at Troop D in Danielson.
