Police Shoot Armed Man in Outer Sunset Neighborhood

San Francisco police officers shoot an armed man Saturday afternoon who was reportedly threatening residents in the Outer Sunset neighborhood. Responding to a call at approximately 4:23 p.m. on the 1200 block of 41st Avenue, officers encountered the man, who had discharged his weapon. He was subsequently shot by police and transported to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.

This incident is considered isolated, with officials stating there is no ongoing threat to the community. As part of standard procedures following such shootings, the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office and internal police units will investigate the event. A town hall meeting scheduled within ten days aims to provide further information to the public.
