Eryk Mariusz Kiler, a 44-year-old Polish national, has been sentenced to nine years in prison after being caught at the Port of Dover with 61 self-loading pistols concealed in the flooring of his car. The arrest followed his attempt to enter the UK, where Border Force officers discovered the hidden weapons, leading to a detailed investigation by the National Crime Agency (NCA).
Kiler initially claimed his visit was for a christening, but authorities uncovered the serious threat posed by his actions. NCA operations manager Tracey Gasson emphasized the agency’s commitment to combating the criminal use of firearms and highlighted the risk to communities if such weapons were allowed to enter the UK. This case underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to safeguard national security against organized crime.
