The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) proposes expanding hunting opportunities at the Eufaula National Wildlife Refuge to include species such as mourning doves, ducks, geese, gray squirrels, white-tailed deer, and feral hogs. This initiative aims to enhance wildlife management while providing a structured hunting experience, which will involve a lottery system for waterfowl hunts.
Public participation in the decision-making process is encouraged, as comments on the proposal will be accepted until June 30. Additionally, youth hunters aged 10-15 will have the chance to explore these outdoor activities under the supervision of licensed adult hunters. This initiative not only supports local hunting traditions but also fosters youth engagement in wildlife conservation efforts.
