Providence Trio Arrested in Illegal Car Rental Scheme

Three residents of Providence have been arrested for allegedly operating an illegal car rental business that served as a front for facilitating gun violence and drug trafficking, according to the Rhode Island State Police. Following a months-long investigation, authorities seized four illegal firearms, a substantial amount of ammunition, and over 500 grams of cocaine along with other controlled substances during a recent search operation.

Wilson Ventura, Myishia Johnson, and Algelys Ventura face multiple charges including possession of stolen firearms and intent to deliver narcotics. They were arraigned without bail, and police have indicated that more arrests may follow as the investigation continues. These developments raise serious concerns regarding organized crime and the alarming links between illegal car rentals and criminal activity in the area.
