In recognition of Gun Safety Awareness Month, the Raleigh Police Department (RPD) is actively promoting responsible gun ownership through practical safety tips and community engagement. The department stresses the importance of secure firearm storage, including keeping guns unloaded and locked, and encourages families to discuss gun safety to protect children.
As part of their initiative, RPD plans to host Gun Lock Giveaway events on June 27, providing free gun locks to community members at two locations during the day. These events not only aim to enhance public safety but also to foster awareness about the shared responsibility of preventing gun violence, inviting community participation in enhancing overall safety.
