In a tense encounter on Tuesday afternoon, Redwood City police officers fatally shot a man after he allegedly pointed a firearm at them near the 200 block of Hazel Avenue. This incident followed a 911 call reporting that the man had discharged a weapon into a sidewalk before fleeing the scene on foot.
The man, identified as 48-year-old Jose Reynaldo Lombera of Redwood City, was subsequently provided medical aid but succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. Thankfully, no officers were reported injured during the incident, which is now under investigation by the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office and local authorities.
