During a recent meeting, homeowners expressed frustration over the prevalence of vegetation choking the lake, which has led to significant depth reduction—from an average of 5 feet to just 18 inches in some areas.
Local residents highlighted the lake’s diminished recreational potential, with some reporting they haven’t been able to fish or ski there for years. County officials acknowledge the challenge, pointing to lowered rainfall and historical issues that have persisted despite past restoration efforts. With half of the lake’s 300 acres now overrun by plants, residents are calling for effective solutions to restore the lake’s health and usability.
