Jaquan Barrows, a 27-year-old man from Revere, is sentenced to nine years in federal prison for two armed robberies at local convenience stores. U.S. District Court Judge Richard G. Stearns issued the sentence after Barrows pleaded guilty to charges including Hobbs Act robbery and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence.
The robberies occurred within a week, the first involving an armed attack at a Revere store where Barrows not only demanded cash but also struck a clerk with a firearm. Surveillance footage and subsequent investigation linked Barrows to the crimes, revealing a direct connection to a vehicle used during the heists. Authorities apprehended him promptly during a raid at his residence, where they recovered incriminating clothing and a handgun.
