A Rockford man and three teenagers are in custody following a police chase that began with a traffic stop on Sunday evening. According to the Rockford Police Department, the driver refused to pull over, leading officers on a pursuit before the vehicle was abandoned in a nearby driveway, prompting a foot chase.
During the incident, police recovered two handguns, one equipped with a laser light and an extended magazine, that were discarded by the suspects as they fled. The 19-year-old driver, Marques Henson, faces multiple serious charges, including aggravated fleeing to elude and unlawful possession of a weapon. Two of the teens were also charged with resisting arrest and firearm-related offenses, highlighting ongoing concerns about youth involvement in gun violence in the area.
