San Antonio Man Gets Over 10 Years for Gun Possession

A San Antonio man, 33-year-old Dante Delray Vecera, is sentenced to 125 months in federal prison for unlawful possession of a firearm, a decision influenced by his extensive criminal background. Vecera was discovered unresponsive in his vehicle, which was reportedly obstructing traffic, and contained illegal drugs, including a bag of white powder and black tar heroin.

This case highlights the federal government’s commitment to stricter enforcement of gun laws for individuals with serious criminal histories. Officials noted that Vecera’s previous convictions for violent offenses, including burglary and assault, played a significant role in determining his lengthy sentence, reflecting ongoing efforts to enhance public safety through legal accountability.
