Savannah Police Investigate New Shooting Incident

Savannah police are investigating a shooting that occurred on Live Oak Street near Waldburg Street, leaving one person injured on Saturday evening. This incident follows closely on the heels of a fatal shooting that took place just days earlier in the same area, raising concerns about the safety of the neighborhood.

Chatham County’s coroner has identified the victim of the prior shooting as 20-something Rasheen James Lovett, Jr. While investigators have not confirmed a connection between the two incidents, the community is urged to provide any information that may assist the investigation by calling CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020.
