Shasta County Man Receives Life Sentence for Gun Crimes

Roger Pyatt Price is sentenced to 11 years and four months in prison, plus an additional 25 years to life, following his conviction for serious firearm offenses in Shasta County. His criminal activities span two traffic stops, where he was discovered in possession of a handgun, ammunition, methamphetamine, and an imitation firearm, leading to multiple felony charges.

Price’s prior convictions contributed to his eligibility for a life sentence, highlighting the legal system’s response to repeated violent offenses. The prosecution was led by Senior Deputy District Attorney Kacie Joh, emphasizing the seriousness with which such crimes are treated in California. The case raises questions about the effectiveness of existing laws on gun possession among felons.
