Shreveport Police Target Illegal Firearms in Citywide Effort

The Shreveport Police Department (SPD) intensifies its efforts to combat illegal firearms by arresting multiple felons during a series of recent operations. In a significant early morning raid, officers arrested Damien Wright for possessing narcotics and a firearm, while a traffic stop led to the apprehension of Dale Robertson, a convicted felon found with a handgun. These actions reflect SPD’s commitment to addressing gun-related offenses within the community.

Further demonstrating their proactive approach, SPD’s Violent Crimes Abatement Team arrested SirDarren Law, who was discovered with three firearms, including a stolen semi-automatic pistol. SPD Chief Wayne Smith emphasizes that these arrests are part of an ongoing strategy to reduce gun violence and improve safety in neighborhoods, highlighting the department’s dedication to removing illegal weapons. The police statement reinforces their mission as they continue to target those illegally possessing firearms.
