Springfield Police ID Man Shot Dead in Metro Center

Springfield police have identified Trey Palmer, a 27-year-old from Chicopee, as the victim of a fatal shooting in the Metro Center on Saturday night. Officers responded to reports of gunfire on Bridge Street around 9:20 p.m., where they found Palmer suffering from serious gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to Baystate Medical Center, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The Springfield Police Homicide Unit is now leading the investigation, asking the public for assistance. Authorities have confirmed there is no immediate danger to residents, but they encourage anyone with information or video footage related to the incident to contact them directly.
