A Palm City man, Jared McDaniels, faces serious charges, including stalking and drug offenses, after an investigation revealed a stockpile of nearly a dozen firearms and psychedelic substances in his home. The inquiry commenced when a woman reported to the police that she believed she was being stalked, leading to the discovery of a tracking device on her vehicle and a subsequent search of McDaniels’ residence.
During the search, law enforcement officials recovered 11 guns, including homemade “ghost guns” that lack serial numbers and are untraceable. Authorities also found a hidden camera reportedly used to record the victim without her knowledge, prompting Sheriff John Budensiek to describe the situation as a “recipe for disaster.” As the investigation continues, McDaniels is being held without bond, and federal authorities may pursue additional charges related to his firearms.
