A Staten Island butcher, Michael Ozga, 42, is arrested for possessing multiple ghost guns following a raid conducted by the NYPD Financial Crimes Task Force. Inside his home and butcher shop, authorities discover seven firearms, including two Glock-style pistols and an AR-15 styled assault weapon, along with ghost gun parts made using a 3-D printer.
The investigation into Ozga began earlier this year, leading to the execution of a search warrant that yielded a significant cache of illegal weapons. Richmond County District Attorney Michael E. McMahon states that the recovery of these firearms is crucial in curbing violence in the area, highlighting the serious implications of ghost guns, which are untraceable and can contribute to crime without being easily linked to their owners.
