He was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to Frankfort Regional Medical Center on December 9, 2025, following an incident that led to an extensive police response at Whitney Moore Young Jr. Hall, where the shooting occurred.
Authorities have apprehended 48-year-old Jacob Bard of Evansville, Indiana, who faces charges of murder and assault in connection to the incident. While the police believe the shooting was isolated and there are no ongoing safety concerns for the campus, a second student remains in critical condition. The university has canceled classes and activities for the week as the community grapples with this senseless loss.
