The ACCESS Act aims to bolster mental health resources by establishing a dedicated office to oversee student services and increase professional staffing, while the ARMOR Act mandates that classroom doors can be locked from the inside during emergencies.
Additionally, the AGENT Act seeks to permit concealed carry on campuses under strict regulations, requiring permits and proficiency testing for firearms. The students emphasize that while addressing mental health is crucial, they must also safeguard against armed threats, arguing that their proposals present sensible, conservative solutions to combat the rising concern of gun violence in educational environments. Their advocacy comes with strong support from state legislators, aiming for these measures to be considered in the upcoming 2026 session.
