A suspect is in custody after an armed robbery at the Quik Stop ABC Store in Anderson, South Carolina, that occurred Wednesday morning. The Anderson Police Department quickly responded to the 10 a.m. incident, launching a manhunt for the suspect who fled to a nearby motel.
Timothy Willess, 45, was identified as the armed robber and was arrested around 1:45 p.m. after a standoff at the Southerner Motor Lodge failed to locate him initially. Officers engaged in negotiations with Willess before deploying the SWAT team, which later found him on Amity Road, raising questions about the suspect’s actions during the standoff.
