A 48-year-old Grandview man, Ebony D. Henderson, faces serious charges after allegedly assaulting a victim with a metal chain following accusations of robbery. Court records indicate that the attack, which took place outside a Kansas City library on September 22, resulted in several head injuries for the victim, who required hospitalization. Law enforcement officials identified Henderson through security footage, which captured him striking the victim multiple times before fleeing on a bicycle.
This incident follows a previous assault where Henderson allegedly pistol-whipped and robbed the same victim just weeks earlier. Despite warnings from his probation officer to avoid contact, Henderson reportedly approached the victim several times, asking him to drop the charges. As of now, Henderson remains in custody without bond, facing a court appearance scheduled for November 25, as authorities express concerns about his escalating danger to the community.
