Despite recent CDC data indicating a decrease in overdose deaths in the region, fentanyl remains a potent threat, with officials like Matt Gutwill emphasizing its dangerous prevalence in street drugs. Williams and Patterson remain incarcerated pending a transfer to Providence Superior Court for further hearings.
