This year, at least seven teenagers across Tacoma and Pierce County have lost their lives to gun-related incidents. Notably, two victims—a 15-year-old and a 19-year-old—were shot during a house party in late March, allegedly by a 17-year-old shooter. The community’s response has included initiatives like Summer Late Nights, which previously helped reduce youth gun violence, highlighting the urgent need for ongoing support and engagement from caregivers and residents alike.
