Teen and Man Injured in Douglass Park Shooting

A 14-year-old boy and another individual were seriously injured in a shooting that occurred Wednesday evening in Douglass Park, North Lawndale, according to Chicago police. The incident unfolded just after 7 p.m., when a gunman opened fire at the two victims while they were inside the park, resulting in the boy sustaining a gunshot wound to the neck and the other victim being shot in the back.

Both victims were rushed to Stroger Hospital, where they were reported to be in serious condition. As authorities continue to investigate the shooting, police have not confirmed if any suspects are in custody. This incident raises ongoing concerns about gun violence in the area, compelling the community to seek answers and safety improvements.
