A 15-year-old student in Flagler County has been arrested after allegedly bringing a firearm to school and pointing it at another student during an off-campus incident. The arrest follows a report made to school resource deputies after the victim stated that the suspect aimed the gun at him in a McDonald’s bathroom. This troubling event occurred after school when both boys were with a group of friends, leading to significant safety concerns for the school community.
Authorities quickly acted by removing the suspect from class and investigating the incident, eventually discovering a video evidence of the gun threat on social media. A subsequent search of the teenager’s bedroom uncovered a loaded 9 mm pistol, prompting charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm on school property. Sheriff Rick Staly emphasized the seriousness of the matter, stating, “We will not tolerate this behavior,” and commending the students who reported the incident for their proactive approach to safety.
