Faisil McCants, an 18-year-old from New York, has been charged with robbery and murder after a tragic incident in East Harlem that left 69-year-old Robin Wright dead. Wright was shot while standing on the street with her walker, caught in crossfire during McCants’ alleged involvement in a robbery involving a drug dealer, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
McCants, armed with a machine gun, reportedly fired 15 rounds in broad daylight, resulting in the fatal shooting of Wright, who was known as a beloved member of her community. He faces serious charges, including Hobbs Act robbery, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years, and weapon charges that could lead to life imprisonment. The community now seeks justice for Wright’s tragic loss, with law enforcement emphasizing the need to combat illegal firearms and their dangerous impact on innocent lives.
