A 16-year-old male has been charged with armed robbery following an incident where he, alongside two accomplices, allegedly held a sanitation worker at gunpoint in Peoria’s East Bluff. The robbery took place on Thursday afternoon as the victim conducted his duties in the 2700 block of N. Missouri Avenue, culminating in the loss of his wallet, car keys, phone, and reflective jacket.
Peoria police apprehended the teenager shortly after the incident, and he has been identified as one of the three perpetrators by the victim. Peoria County State’s Attorney Jodi M. Hoos announced intentions to transfer the case to adult court, indicating the severity of the crime. The investigation continues as law enforcement searches for the remaining suspects involved.
