Teen Sentenced to 12 Years for Armed Burglary in Yuma

A 19-year-old named Jayden Patino has been sentenced to 12 years in prison following an armed robbery that occurred in March of last year. As part of a plea deal accepted earlier this year, Patino pleaded guilty to two counts of armed burglary related to the shocking incident, where he and two accomplices threatened an elderly couple with a firearm and stole over $7,500 worth of property from their home.

This decision comes after Patino’s arrest, where he was found to have served 355 days in jail prior to sentencing. The crime has raised concerns in the Yuma community about the safety of vulnerable residents, especially the elderly, prompting discussions on how to better protect them from similar threats in the future.
