Teen Shot Dead Days After High School Graduation

A 17-year-old boy, DeAngelo Miles, is shot and killed just three days after receiving his high school diploma in Chicago. Miles, a recent graduate of Hansberry College Prep, was recently celebrating his upcoming plans to enlist in the U.S. Navy before a shooting took his life on June 1, according to local police reports.

Witnesses indicate that Miles was attending an after-prom party when he was found fatally shot in the head in an alley. As investigators continue looking for answers, the school community expresses deep sorrow for the loss of this promising young man who played football and had bright aspirations for the future. No arrests have been made, and authorities are searching for motives behind the tragic incident.
