One male victim is shot in the head and killed at DeRitis Playground in Southwest Philadelphia on Monday night, according to police reports. The shooting, which occurred just before 9 p.m., was captured by real-time crime cameras, and authorities revealed the footage shows the shooter approaching the victim stealthily before firing multiple shots.
After the incident, emergency responders rushed the victim, who appears to be in his mid to late teens, to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead within minutes. Investigators recovered nine shell casings from a semi-automatic weapon at the scene and are currently engaging with local residents for any possible witness accounts, as well as seeking additional video footage from nearby cameras.
