Three individuals are shot inside a Jewel-Osco grocery store in Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood early Tuesday morning, as police report an armed confrontation during an attempted theft. The shooting occurs just before 11 a.m., when a 46-year-old man intervenes while two suspects attempt to take merchandise, leading one of the suspects to open fire, injuring the man and two others nearby.
The most severely injured victim, a 46-year-old man, is transported to University of Chicago Hospital in serious condition after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds. A 29-year-old woman is reported stable after being shot in the foot, while a 67-year-old woman suffers a graze wound but declines medical attention. Despite the rapid response from law enforcement and emergency services, Chicago police have not yet made any arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing.
