Jaquan Picott, a 30-year-old man from Trenton, has been sentenced to 190 months in prison for selling approximately 450 grams of fentanyl along with ghost guns and ammunition in New Jersey. This significant ruling was announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Alina Habba, who emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to combat drug trafficking that endangers communities.
Picott was involved in illegal activities from December 2022 until his arrest in June 2023, during which law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and ATF, monitored his drug trafficking operations. His legal troubles escalated after he absconded from pre-trial supervision, resulting in a subsequent arrest by federal marshals in 2025. The sentence reflects ongoing efforts to address the crisis caused by fentanyl and untraceable firearms in the area.
