A trial date has been set for Turner Edward Deontae Turner, a 39-year-old man from Berrien Springs, who is facingCharges for a string of armed robberies across central Berrien County last year. Turner stands accused of 13 felony counts, including four counts of armed robbery, stemming from incidents at various Dollar General locations and a BP gas station.
Turner turned down a plea deal that could have substantially reduced his potential prison time, which now ranges from 225 months to life if convicted on all counts. The robberies took place between June and November, with witnesses describing him as masked and armed during each incident. Authorities linked Turner to the crimes through forensic evidence and vehicle descriptions, leading to his arrest following the last robbery in November.
