Three individuals were arrested on drug and firearms charges following the overdose of seven Providence College students, who were found unresponsive over the weekend. The police responded to a call at 44 Liege St. on Friday night, where first responders administered Narcan and later confirmed that all students were conscious and alert by Saturday morning.
The arrests were made after a narcotics investigation revealed a connection between the suspects and the overdose incident, which involved the discovery of approximately 20 grams of fentanyl and multiple firearms at a residence linked to the trio. This alarming event raises significant concerns about drug safety in college communities, urging officials and students alike to address the growing issue of substance abuse.
