A 64-year-old garden gun maker and two accomplices are sentenced for their roles in manufacturing and distributing “assassination kits” across the UK. Ronald Knowles, dubbed “the armourer,” was arrested as he attempted to destroy evidence in his garden, where police discovered a makeshift weapons factory housing guns, silencers, and ammunition prepared for criminal use.
The gang’s operation was linked to the distribution of firearms to organized crime groups nationwide. Nottinghamshire Police seized lethal self-loading pistols individually packaged with gloves and ammunition, which were designed to kill. Authorities highlight this case as one of the largest firearms manufacturing operations in the East Midlands, raising significant concerns about the impact on public safety.
