Kentucky State Police officials confirm that Trooper Jude Remilien, a three-year veteran, remains hospitalized in stable condition after being shot during a series of violent incidents in Lexington. The shootings, which occurred on July 13, resulted in the deaths of two individuals at the Richmond Road Baptist Church, where the suspect, Guy House, allegedly fired upon several victims before being shot by police.
In this harrowing event, Remilien’s traffic stop was the catalyst for the violent outbreak, as House initially shot the trooper before fleeing the scene and carjacking a vehicle. Tragically, Beverly Gumm, 72, and her daughter Christina Combs, 34, were killed, with two additional male victims suffering critical injuries. The Kentucky State Police express gratitude for the support shown toward Remilien as the investigation continues.
