In its brief to the Supreme Court, the DOJ labels the law “blatantly unconstitutional” and argues it undermines the Second Amendment rights upheld by previous court decisions. Attorney General Pam Bondi emphasizes that a ruling in favor of the plaintiffs could restore gun rights for millions across the nation, as several other states have similar restrictive laws. The Court is expected to deliberate on the case early next year with a potential ruling by summer.
