Two suspects, Nigel Newkir and Jakari Crawford, have been arrested following a shooting during a block party in Waynesboro, Georgia, which left three individuals injured, including Burke County Sergeant Charles Schofield. Both men face multiple charges, including Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, and have been denied bond as the investigation continues.
Authorities confirmed that the incident occurred on October 12, with Newkir and Crawford arrested shortly after. Schofield has since been released from the hospital and is on the mend, while one other victim remains in critical condition. As investigations unfold, the Burke County Criminal Investigations Division is exploring the possibility of more arrests in connection with the shooting.
