Two individuals have been arrested in connection with an attempted armed robbery of a landscaper on Daniel Island, according to Charleston police. The incident occurred on April 16 when a member of the landscaping crew was confronted by a masked assailant demanding their wallet at knifepoint, resulting in a struggle that left the victim with a laceration.
Investigators identified the suspect as 24-year-old Damone Gene Sheppard, who was employed by the same landscaping company at the time of the robbery. The driver of the getaway vehicle, 25-year-old Keyausiane Kristen Gough-Beaufort, has also been charged. Both suspects have been taken into custody and are currently held at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center, raising questions about workplace safety and crime in the area.
