Lowndes County authorities have arrested two men following an armed robbery that occurred at an apartment complex on July 11. The victim reported being approached by one suspect who requested a ride, only to be ambushed by a second assailant wielding a gun, who then demanded his belongings, including a cellphone and debit card.
Investigators, led by the Columbus Police Department, quickly identified and apprehended 18-year-old Jakorey Gibbs, who was found in possession of the victim’s debit card. He subsequently revealed the identity of his accomplice, Jaylin Hodges, leading to both men’s arrests. Each now faces charges of armed robbery with a bond set at $100,000, raising questions about their previous bonds for similar offenses.
