Two Stamford Felons Arrested with Illegal Firearms

Stamford police arrest two felons, Roland Newton and Lance Rhodes, after discovering they possess illegal firearms following a two-week investigation. Both men, aged 37, are prohibited from having guns due to their extensive criminal backgrounds, and the police apprehended them near Pequot Drive after receiving a tip-off about their activities.

Officers reported finding a loaded semiautomatic handgun on Newton after he attempted to flee, while another firearm was located nearby after Rhodes briefly stepped away during the incident. Each faces serious charges, including criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of ammunition, with bail set at $250,000 for Newton and raised to $300,000 for Rhodes after their court appearances.
