Edina police have arrested two teenage boys, ages 16 and 17, in connection to an armed robbery on November 30 that resulted in one victim being shot. The incident occurred in the parking lot of an apartment complex, reportedly during a Facebook Marketplace transaction that took a dangerous turn when gunfire erupted, injuring an 18-year-old man in the arm.
Officers were able to track down the suspects through surveillance footage and physical evidence left at the scene, leading to their arrests over the following hours. A “ghost gun” was recovered during the investigation, raising concerns about the rising trend of untraceable firearms among youth. Both suspects are currently held at the Hennepin County Juvenile Detention Center as the police investigation continues.
