Instead, the university clarified that a lone thief entered two rooms and stole mobile phones, fleeing the scene as safety officers and police were alerted.
In their statement, registrar Ganiyu Saliu emphasized that no students were harmed and reassured the public about the safety of lives and property on campus. The incident, which was misreported as a serious criminal act, showcases the importance of accurate journalism in reflecting campus security realities.
